This will be more of a photo review than a full review. I was caddying this week and didn’t have time to do a thorough review.

Booking

I had a nice balance of IHG points at the time, so I decided to use points instead of cash. I ended up spending 100,000 points for a five-night stay. The cash price was $676.20.

Check-in

The front-desk staff all spoke good English and really all hotel associates spoke fluent English. I was given two free drink vouchers during check-in to be used at the bar for being a Platinum member.

Room

I booked a double bed room with an interior view. Most rooms come with a 32 inch TV, spacious work desk, a chair and ottoman. One thing I loved about the hotel is housekeeping brought two free waters daily to the room. That was a big plus.

The WiFi was outstanding. I don’t think I’ve seen speeds like this in any US hotel I’ve been to.

Bathroom

The bathroom was the highlight of the room. It was spacious with a large walk-in shower. The robe was good, and the slippers were a true one-size-fits-all and were extremely comfortable.

Pool

The indoor pool is located near the lobby. They keep the water temperature 84 degrees year around.

The fitness center is located across from the pool and is open 7am-9pm.

Restaurant

Panteon Taurino is the main restaurant located in the lobby. I had breakfast there a couple of mornings, and it was fantastic. I think Mexicans do breakfast as well as anyone in the world. There was a hot bar, cold bar, omelette station, taco station, and then your normal cereals and pastries.

The bar area is located across from the restaurant. We were lucky, they had just finished renovating the bar area a few days before we arrived. There were plenty of TV’s scattered around with one large TV as the focal point. I had the Ahi Tuna lettuce tacos several different times because they were so delicious and the chipotle sauce that came with them was phenomenal.

I ordered room service a few times. I had the steak ramen and buffalo chicken wings. Both were really good and promptly delivered.

Service

Other then the front-desk staff, the only other hotel associates I encountered were the gentlemen working the bar area. They were on top of their game. You could tell they were hustling and doing everything they could to provide friendly and efficient service. I was impressed. Because of them, I’ll give service 9/10.

Overall

All in all, I was overly impressed with the hotel. This is probably the best Crowne Plaza I have stayed in. The food was great, service outstanding, and the comfort of the rooms was the icing on the cake. There was nothing left to be desired during my stay. I would highly recommend staying here if you find yourself in Leon, Mexico.

Additional Information

There is a street taco stand that opens up in the evening about a block from the hotel. I highly recommend visiting because they were the best tacos I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. Furthermore, Leon, Mexico is referred to as the leather capital of the world by some. There’s a neighborhood located about 20 minutes from the hotel where you can get great leather products for cheap prices.
